Description
The Damper Sealing Kit is designed to seal off your damper around your stainless-steel chimney liner kit when installing a fireplace insert or a freestanding stove. When you have a large opening around the liner, it allows the hot air, created by the insert or stove to rise into the chimney up into the chimney chamber, which reduces the amount of heat that is intended for heating the house. Sealing off the damper can help the efficiency of the stove and provide more heat in the living space. Includes two galvanized metal sections which adjust to fit around the chimney liner. Also includes insulation and all hardware required to complete the job. Seals off dampers up to 48 inches wide. Universal for diameters 6" - 10".
Flex connector/chimney liner not included.
Additional Info:
Ventinox VFT
Crafted from 316Ti stainless steel, Ventinox VFT is designed to endure the high temperatures generated by solid fuel heaters and the corrosive conditions common in gas or oil vents. It is tested and listed for all-fuel use, making it suitable for wood, gas, and oil-fired appliances.
Ventinox VG
The ideal solution for venting gas-fired appliances where the formation of highly corrosive condensates, such as hydrochloric acid, is expected. Made from super-ferritic AL29-4C stainless steel, this material provides exceptional resistance to chloride pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress-related cracking.
Ventinox components are constructed from either 316 stainless steel (VFT) or super-ferritic stainless steel (VG). Each component includes an integral locking band, eliminating the need for pop rivets and ensuring a secure, penetration-free connection from top to bottom. When venting solid fuel heaters, Ventinox VFT requires insulation with either TherMix or ProFoil blankets to meet UL 1777 standards. Insulation is also highly recommended for all other applications to enhance efficiency and draft performance.
Applications:
VFT flexible liners are used for upgrading or restoring masonry chimneys that vent Category I natural gas, propane or oil appliances, wood or pellet stoves, f ireplaces and fireplace inserts.
VG flexible liners are top performers when used to line masonry chimneys venting Category I gas-fired boilers, furnaces, space and water heaters.
Materials and Construction:
VFT Single-wall, .006” 316 stainless steel. Continuous weld delivers a strong, air and water tight flue gas conduit.
VG Single-wall, .006” AL29-4C stainless steel. Continuous weld construction.
Clearances:
VFT 0” clearance to masonry chimney for oil and gas. With TherMix or ProFoil insulation 0” clearance for solid fuels. VG 0” clearance to masonry for gas appliances.
Diameters:
Flex 3”-12”
