Chimney Restoration and Repair
The smoke chamber and firebox are the most volatile areas of the fireplace. The smoke chamber is what funnels the smoke into the chimney. If your smoke chamber doesn’t work properly your chimneys efficiency and safety declines. For this reason, most building codes require that smoke chambers should be parged. Parging is a layer of special mortar, like ChamberSafe, that is applied to the corbelled brick wall of the smoke chamber.
