HeatShield Cerfractory Flue Sealant is an advanced chimney repair solution that combines the strength of high-fired ceramic with the superior heat resistance of high-temperature refractory cements. This proprietary “Cerfractory®” technology delivers exceptional durability and performance in high-heat chimney environments.
The sealant is tested to ASTM C199 Standard Pier Test for Refractory Mortars and is rated “Super-Duty,” exceeding the medium-duty requirements set by both the International Residential Code (IRC) and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
HeatShield Cerfractory Flue Sealant can be used to repair missing or defective mortar joints in masonry chimneys or be applied using a slip-cast method to coat the entire flue surface at an average thickness of 3/16 inch (minimum 1/8 inch). It is suitable for use in residential chimneys venting Category I gas-fired appliances (natural gas or propane), Type L oil-fired appliances, and solid-fuel-fired systems.
