Description

The DuraTech Adjustable Length is handy when an exact length of chimney is needed but the standard lengths of chimney do not combine to the needed length. The Adjustable Length spans from a minimum of 14" to a maximum of 22". The Adjustable Length can be used between any other Duratech chimney sections (straight pipe lengths, elbows, tees, etc.). The Adjustable Length is a telescoping section of chimney with both male and female sections. (See figure 1 above). Within the male section there are 2" wide strips of insulation that can be removed to allow for a customized length (See figure 2 above)

Application and Listing

A DuraTech Adjustable Length is a listed component of the UL Listed DuraTech Chimney System (MH7399). Installation of the Adjustable Length must comply with both these supplementary installation instructions and the full DuraTech Chimney Installation Instructions. DuraTech Chimney system is listed with a 2” minimum clearance (air space) to combustibles. Always maintain a minimum of 2” clearance between chimney pipe and nearby combustibles. Failure to maintain the minimum 2” clearance to combustibles can result in a fire hazard.

A MAJOR CAUSE OF CHIMNEY RELATED FIRES IS FAILURE TO MAINTAIN REQUIRED CLEARANCES (AIR SPACES) TO COMBUSTIBLE MATERIALS. IT IS OF THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE THAT THIS CHIMNEY BE INSTALLED ONLY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THESE INSTRUCTIONS.

Applications:

5”-8” DuraTech is a double-wall, all-fuel chimney system for use with wood stoves, fireplaces, furnaces, boilers, ranges, water heaters, or other appliances fueled by wood, oil, coal, or gas, and zero-clearance fireplaces that are factory-built.

10”-24” large diameter DuraTech is a 1” wall, all-fuel chimney system for use with wood stoves, fireplaces, furnaces, boilers, ranges, water heaters, or other appliances fueled by wood, oil, coal, or gas.

Materials and Construction:

5”-8” diameter pipe features inner wall of .020” 430 stainless steel. Outer wall options of .016” 430 stainless steel or .021” galvalume steel. A thermal blanket insulation is encased between walls. Stainless steel end rings seal the pipe. DuraTech features light weight insulation, twist-lock fittings, support boxes with factory installed starter sections, elbows with 360° swivel base, select black finish pipe lengths, five-foot length pipe sections, and adjustable pipe lengths.
